So once people are mapping with these mods in place on certain maps you can be sure Sextants, corrupted maps, and all those things taken into account its gonna be a league where in two weeks time there will be more currency and drops generated than in most 3 month leagues. Fast clearing builds now already see 20-30+ exalts in drops with league stones and this is just a single leaguestone on steroids. Once you reach maps in a league like this currency and drops will rain. this is especially true where maps is concerned which would be the main concern in all this. And since they last 1 hour gives plenty of time to take full advantage. But a whole map full Boxes will be alot like monstrous tresure for free and invasion with map mods might see some action but i doubt it again the other mods will be alot better and more people will just stick to them.īut at any rate the point is ALL these are together in the same league so every single map or area you go to will have something lucrative going on. And Invasion is the league alot of people liked the least especially ones who played it back at its release. Pulling a bunch into a single rare or two will give huge payoffs again most notably in maps.īoxes and Invasion i guess could have payouts to a certain degree but boxes will cost currency to roll while none of the other before mentioned will cost the player anything. This race the area will be littered with them. Tormented Spirits get a bad rap mostly because of their AI imo (Atleast thats my biggest gripe with them) But, they can give good loot ESPECIALLY if you can manage to get multiples into the same rare. And i would imagine zana will still have her Beyond mod which people will go for because of huge payouts and massive exp with this combo. Then you have Breaches which just one or two per area would be huge loot most especially in maps and will be one everyone flocks to as a result. Black gives you access to fear and menace as well.We got Rouge exiles which if im not mistaken always gets voided if they have lots of them in any race because they drop really good loot potentially especially once in maps. Double strike from red can lead to quick commander kills. Consider some type of evasion besides his built-in flying. Base your removal off your meta, but protecting korvold is more important. You'll still need draw, so a few green "draw equal to creature's power" cards and black ] and the ones that can draw when a creature dies should round the deck out well. If you want combo, ] and ] are your pieces. Any passive token producers that you don't have to continually put mana into (such as planeswalkers, or Enchantments with a "whenever" triggered ability. ] is a good ramp creature and food token producer. If Heist isn't your cup of tea, it's completely possible to play the Flashback event and not engage with Heist content. You may not have the fetch lands, but even terramorphic expanse is helpful for korvold to trigger your draw and counter. I like mayhem and delve but heist flashback not so much, leveling those npcs again and falling asleep while waiting for door/chests to open, im gonna pass on the 3rd event. More sacrifice payoff such as ] would be great. Jund is my favourite three colour combo by far. He makes a showing as a very good value engine. He can very easily reach lethal like I've said, and being a flyer and in the right colours, he can get trample super easy. My meta has shifted to including a lot more removal because of the threat of letting such a good creature get that out of control. That's a tonne of card draw for my engine, too. I've had him reach 21/21 in no time flat because he wasn't targeted. Left to his own devices, he'll get you so much value. I don't have a list since uhhhhhh it wasn't the best, like, it had 25 lands. I bought his boxset from Brawl and grabbed a hodge podge of random cards that I either owned or could get dirt cheap. If you are concerned about being targeting about using Korvold, there are other options that play in a similar fashion that you can try like Kresh the Bloodbraided. The EDHRec page on Budget Korvold can also help give ideas too. All generally useful cards in Jund decks, but also happen to work well with Korvold. When starting a budget deck, having a focus will help, but it's fine to just grab generic cards that are useful too. Also protective spells like ] will be good at keeping him alive. You just want to be generating value and/or things for Korvold to eat. With Korvold specifically, that can be things like ] and ] (literally cards from the Shard of Jund on Alara) would do well. It kinda depends on who you ask, but really any card you like with RBG colors that work well together or pull their own weight alone.
